Precautionary pest control

Pestec has adopted the Precautionary Principle, which states: ::"When an activity raises threats of harm to human health or the environment, precautionary measures should be taken even if some cause and effect relationships are not fully established scientifically."-from the Wingspread Conference on the Precautionary Principle January 26, 1998

The Precautionary Principle is used to prevent adverse effects on human health and the environment by avoiding practices which could potentially cause harm, even if these adverse effects have not been proven to causally follow from the aforementioned practices. New information is compiled every day that indicates not enough has been done to avert the dangers of pesticide chemical exposure associated with the pest control industry and the recombination of pesticides in the environment. Consequently, Pestec has adopted the precautionary principle as a tenet of reduced risk integrated pest management. By opting to use containerized baits and crack and crevice treatments as chemical control strategies, rather than traditional pesticide spray applications for the control of pests, Pestec preemptively reduces the amount of pest control materials introduced into the environment through pesticide exposures. Pestec uses integrated pest management practices to reduce pesticide use.
